This evening, the Board of Education voted to approve the transition from four elementary schools to three beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, and designate Eisenhower Elementary School to be transitioned in preparation for reconfiguration into a future middle school consistent with the adopted long-range plan. Moving from four elementary schools to three reflects careful consideration of enrollment, funding, and student needs.
We know this raises many questions and there are still many details to be worked out. We are committed to a transition that puts students first and honors what our families and community value most. One thing is certain: this change will affect all of us, and we will navigate it together.
In the coming weeks, we will share more information about what this transition means for students and families, along with opportunities for you to be involved and ask questions. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you are feeling worried or uncertain. We are here to support you.
We appreciate you and your partnership with McPherson Public Schools.
