This past July McCSEC was able to host the 2nd Annual Para Academy for paraeducators. The range of staff in attendance was 43-69 over the 4 days which included paraeducators, behavior and autism interventionists, behavior consultants, and special education teachers. The presenters covered specific behavior strategies, autism supports, structured teaching, self-care, instructional strategies, working as a team, ADHD, supporting communication skills, and promoting independence. There was a ton of good information packed into these four days! McCSEC extends a big thank you to all of the presenters for making this an incredible experience staff!

Moundridge Elementary students participated in the district wide Wildcat Day. The students teamed up across grade levels to participate in school pride activities and to raise money for a defibrillator that was needed in the community daycare.

What do the Special Olympics mascot, Amtrykes, hula hoops, soccer balls, and freshly baked cookies have in common? They were all at the Community Building on Tuesday, April 25 when the McPherson County Special Education Cooperative hosted its first Agency Fair.
